Helen runs Old Court Nurseries and Picton Gardens in Colwall near Malvern, the third generation of the Picton Family to do so. Famous for Michaelmas daisies, the nurseries also grow much more besides, based on the wide range of choice alpines and perennials built up by the late Percy Picton and his son Paul.
With husband Ross Barbour, Helen looks after the Plant Heritage National Collection of autumn flowering asters and continues to develop the 1.5 acre garden.
Helen’s talk will take us on a personal journey to remind us of the simple pleasure of plants and hopes to inspire us to try some of the more challenging aspects of horticulture.
