Ian gardens in Aberdeen where his main interest is the study of bulb cultivation.
He has written his Bulb Log Diary for the Scottish Rock Garden Club since 2003. The Bulb Log is a fully illustrated garden diary covering all aspects of the bulbs and many other plants he and wife Margaret grow, both under glass and in the open garden, giving details of the growing conditions and methods they have developed through the years as well as showing many of the other garden projects.
Ian is widely known for developing the method of turning polystyrene (Styrofoam) fish boxes into troughs that mimic the appearance of real stone and has often given demonstrations to groups.
This talk will look at the use of bulbs in the garden to create interest and colour for as many months as possible.
This is a ZOOM event, joining details will be sent to members before the talk.
